Being from California, and growing up next to more sushi and Asian fusion places than Starbucks, I know my teriyaki and soy-based marinades.  WELL.  I also know that they contain gluten.  Because soy sauce, which is one of the key components of the savory, sweet flavorings, is traditionally made from wheat.  (Contrary to the assumption one would make of “soy” sauce being solely from, well, soy.)

<–obviously have not tried the purple sauce on the left (hello, nuts!), but the other sauces by this brand are mmmm mmmmm delish!

Happy day: San-J makes an entire line of gluten-free soy sauces and Asian marinades!

Simple easy chicken dish: marinate your chicken breasts with San-J’s gluten-free marinade for about an hour (or 5 minutes if you’re in a hurry), grill it up for about 7 minutes on each side, and another 5-10 minutes over low heat covered (until there is no pink on the inside), and serve with some brown rice, steamed broccoli, and a whole lotta love.

Available in most grocery stores.
