The Top Three Allergy-Friendly Producers at the Wednesday Downtown Portland Farmer’s Market

Well, I had to get my basil from somewhere.  And that somewhere was the petite Farmer’s Market found behind my culinary alma mater, The Heathman Hotel and Restaurant.

Farmer’s Markets are inherently blissful for those of the allergic set, as they are loaded with fresh produce, artisanally-crafted oils, and naturally “stuff”-free treats, galore.

This unassuming market is all that, and a bag of gluten-free, all-natural potato chips.  Really good ones, at that.

Here are the top three allergy-friendly stands for Bubble Children at this particular open air market.  Enjoy the summer, the Wednesday marché is only here until the end of it!

1. Ruby Jewels Scoops!  THEY HAVE GLUTEN-FREE ICE CREAM SANDWICHES AT THE MARKET.  Hoooorrraaaayyyyyyy.

2. Goldin Artisan Goat Cheese.  Prepared in the traditional French manner, and made of lactose-light goat’s milk, this cheese is anything but upsetting on both the taste buds and stomach.

3. Gabriel’s Bakery GF desserts!  Thank you, for making snacking beyond loads of blueberries possible at the market.

The Wednesday Farmer’s Market is open from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Shemanski Park, Wednesdays, until October 31.

Park in between SW Salmon and Main.
